We're also excited to announce that GI Sportz just jumped on board. It will be great to have them around again, and they will be at the first event to answer any questions.

Everyone is welcome to come out to OTP Friday the 15th to walk the fields, and take advantage of some free bbq. Players presenting their GFOA ID will receive a free plate. Beverages will not be provided so bring your own. We're looking forward to hanging out with everyone. Hope to see you there!

Our next Legend has not only had a huge impact on the GFOA as a player but also as ref. He's played numerous series and at events and fields all over the country and his team dominated GFOA open division. When we posted the first GFOA Legend interview, Steven Ledbetter, a long time force in Georgia and southeastern paintball contacted us at the GFOA and suggested we also do a 'Coach's Corner' so some of the older, more experienced people in paintball could pass on some of their wisdom. We thought it was a great idea and asked him to be our first 'coach'.

The GFOA was started in 2008 by several middle GA field owners that noticed there was a lack of quality tournament events in the area. The league has grown by leaps and bounds since it's humble beginnings. There have been 45 events since 2008, with an average of 150 players per event. Just in 2012, 466 unique players participated over the course of the season. And during those five years some of our players have become....

Changes are coming to the GFOA in 2013...

6 events instead of 8, no dropped score. This gives teams more time to prepare for each event and makes every event count.

Prizes will be posted before each event. Championship rings will still be the overall end of season prize.

Valken, Planet Eclipse and NXe have already committed as sponsors. We will announce others as they confirm.

We have added another Facebook group - The GFOA Player Information Page where you can get all the latest updates on rules, rates of fire and event info. The old GFOA FB page will be maintained for the players to use to find other players, BST and smack talk. We felt it was important to have a place on FB where we could quickly post updates and not have them vanish under 100 "buy my gat' posts.

The GFOA grand opener will be March 16 at On Target Paintball Ga. Registration is open on APPA now, so lets get registered and ID's purchased. Don't be a dork and have to wait in line at the first event.

We had a field layout prepared and were ready to post it but the PSP field upgrades for the 2013 season came out, so we had to make minor changes. Layout will be posted no later than the 20th of January.
